1 cup butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 cups whole wheat flour. Mix butter and sugar. Add vanilla. Stir in flour. Knead, roll out and cut with cookie cutters. Bake in oven at 325 for 10-15 mins.
2 cups whole wheat flour, 2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup brown sugar, 3/4 tsp baking soda, 1 cup butter. 1/2 cup milk. Mix dry ingredients together. Melt butter. Add butter and milk into dry ingredients and mix. If using cookie cutters chill dough fo 1/2. Shape cookies. Bake at 350 degres for 10-15 mins.Whole Wheat Biscuits
3 cups whole wheat flour, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 5 tsp baking powder, 1/2 cup butter, 1 egg, 1 cup milk. Mix flour, sugar and baking powder. Cut in butter. Add egg and milk. Mix and then knead. Roll out and use cookie cutters. Bake at 450 oven for 10-12 minutes.
Whole Wheat Pancakes
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1 egg, 2 tbsp oil, 1 1/2 cups milk. Mix dry ingredients together. Mix milk, oil and egg together and add to dry ingredients. Cook in frypan or pancake griddle.
Whole Wheat Pizza Dough
1 -8 g pkg active dry yeast, 1/4 cup lkewar water, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp butter, 1 cup boiling water, about 3 cups whole wheat flour. Soften yeast in lukwarm. Let stand 10 minutes. Mix together sugar, shortening and boiling water in a large bowl an stir until dissolved. cool. Add yeast mixture. Beat in half flour. Add remaining flour slowly to make soft dough. Make a ball with dough and knead lightly about 3 mins. Flatten dough. (for smaller individual pizzas, make small balls and flatten into individual pizzas.
Whole Wheat Pretzels
1 1/2 c. water, 2 c. whole wheat flour, 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 1 1/2 tsp brown sugar, 2-2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour, 1 egg yolk, 1 tbsp water, coarse salt (optional). Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat water to 120 degrees. In large bowl, combine 2 cups flour and yeast, sugar, salt and warmed water. Mix for 3 minutes. Add 2 cups flour and continue kneading for 3 minutes. If dough is sticky, knead in enough of remaining 1/2 cup flour to form a soft dough. Shape into a ball. On a floured surface, cut into 16 pieces and roll with hands into approximately 12 inch ropes. Shape as pretzels and put on foil covered cookie sheets. Beat egg yolks and 1 tablespoon water until well blended. Coat dough with egg mixture and sprinkle with salt. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and cool on wire racks. Store no longer than 2 days
HEALTHY SNACK AND MEALS - NO THEME
bake tortilla shell in medium small tart/pie plate and fill with ground beef, lettice, tomato, and cheese.

CONSTRUCTION THEME SNACK AND MEALS
Build Your Own Taco's
Make taco meat mixture and add it to mini taco shells. Grate cheese, dice tomatos, shred lettuce/spinach and put in small bowl with spoons and scopes and let the children build their own tacos.
Crackers, Cheese, Deli Meat, Cucumber slices. Let children build towers to eat.
Logs and Boulders
Penne pasta and meatballs.
Yogurt, orange Juice, banana, and fruit blended
DESSERT THEME SNACK AND MEALS
Small cucumber sliced in half with pretzel sticks stuck in for quills
Use pretzel recipe from above. shape into snakes. Roll crated cheese in the tail of the snake for the rattle.
FALL THEME SNACKS AND MEALS
use leaf cookie cutters to cut out toast and then spread with red jam/jelly and orange marmalade.
Sweet Potato Fries
buy them or make your own and bake. Very yummy
Leaves and Pine Cones
Colored pasta noodles (orange, green and yellow) and oblong meatballs
1 cup butter/shortening, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 cup strained pumpkin, 1 egg, 2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup raisons, 1/2 cup molasses, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg. Preheat oven 375. Cream butter and brown sugar. Mix in pumpkin, egg, and molasses. Stir in dry ingredients, spice and raisons. Drop by spoonful onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes.

Preheat oven 400. Beat egg in bowl till frothy. Mix in sugar, oil and pumpkin. Stir in dry ingredients, spice and raisons. Pour into mini muffin pan (or regular) Bake 20-25 minutes.

Use round flour tortilla, spread with salmon and cream cheese cut into bite size use a half grape for the head
HALLOWEEN THEME SNACK AND MEALS
Make meatloaf in muffin tins. Use baked french fries for legs and pieces of cheese for eyes.
Mashed Potato Ghosts
Place ghost cookie cutter on baking pan and fill with mashed potatos. Continue doing this till pan is full and then broil in oven till golden. Flip then broil in oven again till golden brown.
Shepard's Pie Ghosts
Make shepard's pie in tiny ghost foil pans, with two corn kernals for eyes.

Place pumpkin cookie cutter on baking pan and fill with mashed sweet potatos. Continue doing this till pan is full and then broil in oven till golden. Flip then broil in oven again till golden brown.
Mini Perogie Eyes
Mini perogies with pieces of melted cheese on topWorms and Eyeballs (spagetti and meatballs)
Cook up the spagetti, add sauce, melt a small piece of cheese on top of meatball for the pupil.
Mini Mummy Pizzas
Mini pepperoni pizza with slices of mozzerella cheese wraping pizza, leaving two pepperoni eyes showing.
OCEAN THEME SNACK AND MEALS
All beef hot dog weiners. Slice weiner 4 times 3/4 way down into eight legs. Boil. The legs will curl up making octopus.
All beef hot dog weiners with raw pasta poked in for tenticles. The pasta cooks soft.
Use cheese string cheese stick and peel 8 octopus legs part way down.
Use fish cookie cutter to cut bread into fish shapes and use tuna fish or salmon mixed with cream cheese for sandwich filler.
PIRATES THEME SNACK AND MEALS
Melon Boat Pirate Ship
Make pirate ship sail and using chop stick or popsicle stick put it in melon slice and use teddy graham bears for the priates
Use above recipe for pretzels. Shape into ancors and swords.
Pirate Treasure Chest
Muffins baked in a mini loaf pan. Slice the top and fill with cut grapes or other fruit pieces.

POND THEME SNACK AND MEAL IDEAS
Pond Dip Snack
Add blue food coloring to dip and make a veggie and cracker pond. Fish crackers, log crackers. (carrots can be shredded for the little ones).
Mix can salmon and cream cheese. Spread on whole wheat flour tortillas and roll up. Slice and curl end in roll to make snail head.
Make homemad muffins and place in mini muffin tin. Add some blueberry jelly/jam to center top and bake. When cooled add a gold fish cracker to the pond.
Use above oatmeal cookie recipe and add raisons or chocolate chips for the bugs. Use turtle or frog cookie cutters.
Use above whole wheat pancake recipe. Add a bit of green food color. scope some pancake mix in the middle for the body and add small amounts of mix to the sides for the four legs and on the top for the head.
RAIN FOREST/JUNGLE THEME SNACKS AND MEALS
Rain Forest Brownies
use Jungle cookie cutters to cut out brownies.
3/4 cup chocolate chips (chocolate from the rain forest), 1/2 butter, 1/2 tsp vanilla (vanilla bean from the rain forest), 1/2c brown sugar, 1/2 c whole wheat flour, 3 tbsp cocoa (chocolate from the rain forest), 1 tsp baking powder, and 2 eggs. Melt chocolate chips, butter and vanilla, add dry ingredients, whisk in eggs. Pour into pan (will be thin but will rise nicely). Bake at 350 degrees for about 5-10 minutes. Cool and cut.
Spices come from the rain forest.
SAFARI THEME SNACK AND MEALS
Use whole wheat biscuit recipe above. Use a lion cookie cutter and place grated cheese around head for the mane. Cook.
ST. PATRICK'S THEME SNACK AND MEALS
1 cup sugar, 1 cup butter softened, 2 cups flour, 1tsp vanilla, 1 egg, Food coloring - 6 colors. Mix sugar, butter, egg and vanila. Add flour and mix well. Divide dough into six balls and add a different color to each ball. Roll out into little snake shapes on floured surface. Arch the pieces and press color pieces together onto cookie sheet to make rainbow. Bake at 350 for 8-15 minutes.
Pot of Gold Snack
Mini round crackers and pieces of cheese in a mini black cauldron
Orange, kiwi, purple grapes, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, green grapes ect... Cut fruit up and place on plate in rainbow shape arches.
Color pancake mix with red, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange food coloring and make mini pancakes.
Use shamrock cookie cutter to shape toast and spread with mint jelly or with cream cheese (colored green with food color).
Use whole wheat biscuit recipe above and spread with mint jelly or with cream cheese (colored green with food color).
1 lb lamb cut into cubes, 3 medium potatos, 2 medium onions chopped, 2 large carrots, cut into thick pieces, 3 cups stock, small knob of butter, fresh parsley, 2 bay leaves, sprig of Thyme, 1 lamb bone, the larger the better, salt, pepper. use a large casserole dish with a tight fitting lid. preheat oven 375 degrees F. Melt butter in a pan and fry the meat until it is browned all over, about 3-5 mins. Transfer to the casserole dish. Fry the onions on the same pan for about a minute, remove them to the casserole just berfore they start to brown. Pour half of stock into the pan, turn the heat up as high as it will go and scrape the pan as the stock boils to get all the meat juices. Pour both portions of stock over the eat and onions, add the bay leaves, the thyme and the lamb bone. season with a little salt and pepper. Cover and put in the oven for about 45 mins.- 1 hour. peel potatos and cut medium sized potatoes into three pices, large ones into 4 or 5 pieces. Remove the stew from the oven add the carrots, mixing them in well with the meat, then lay the potatoes over the top of the stew. Return to the oven and cook for another 45 mins. Done when potatoes are done. Before serving remove and discard the bone, the thyue and the bay leaves. Pour off the cooking liquid and leave to stand for a few minutes. this will bring the fat to the top remove the fat and pour liquid back in stew. mix the potatoes into the rest of the stew and stir in a hanful of roughly chopped parsley. Return to oven for 10 mins. (I just cut the meat and veggies into more managable pieces for the children)
TRANSPORTATION THEME SNACK AND MEALS
Cut cheese into cubes and put on a skewer. Stick toothpicks in each cube and add cherry tomatoes for train wheels.
Cut an egg carton into strips and fill each section with a snack (crackers, cheese, berries)
Make a ship sail and using chop stick or popsicle stick put it in melon slice
Cut banana in half lengthwise. Place sliced banana, cut side down on a plate. Use a whole graham cracker rectangle for the wings and a quarter rectangle for the horizontal part of the tail.
Traffic Light Snack
use a rectangle graham cracker and spread with cream cheese. Color a little bit of the cream cheese with red, green and yellow food color and dot for the traffic lights.
WINTER THEME SNACK AND MEALS
warm up whole wheat tortillas. Fold in half then in half again and with scissors cut out snowflake pattern. Fry in a bit of oil in a frying pan. Remove and dust with icing sugar. Cool and serve.
Make pancakes in the shape of snowman. Use blueberries for the eyes and mouth.
Use round crackers spread with creamcheese.
VALENTINES THEME SNACK AND MEALS
Mix Wholewheat pancakes (recipe above) and add red food color. Use metal heart cookie cutter and pour patter into heart. Top with red fruit.
Spread cream cheese and strawberry Jam on whole wheat tortilla. Roll and slice. Shape slice into heart.
Use wholewheat biscuit recipe (recipe above) and cut into heart shapes. Place one heart ontop of another and bake. When done separate the two hearts to make the bun. Use same heart cookie cutter to shape hamburger patties and cook.
Make pizza dough and use a large heart cookie cutter to cut pizza dough. Top with favorite toppings.
Jam Roll Ups
spread cream cheese and red jam (strawberry or raspberry) on flour tortilla and roll up. Can slice or cut in half.
